Development of apps for mobile devices has snowballed in recent years. The great thing about it is that anyone with a lively imagination and the ability to think creatively can create a ground-breaking application! Whether it's a highly addictive game or an app that solves a particular problem, such as Whatsapp, Viber, or any other app...
What difference, if any, is there between developing an app for iPhone versus developing an app for Android?
App development for the iPhone is based on Xcode and the Objective-C language as opposed to app development for Android, which is written in the well-known Java language. Consequently, development of apps for iPhone versus Android are two completely different products. Even the GUI (user interface) of the devices is different. The buttons on the iPhone look different to those on Android devices, which look more web-like than those designed for iOS. In addition, Galaxy devices have physical buttons such as Back, whereas on the iPhone, this is a touch button, like in the device as a whole.
Furthermore, the app graphics need to be different because screen sizes are very different, with different proportions and different picture quality. The iPhone has a 3.5 inch retina display and a resolution of 960x640 compared to the Galaxy 3, which has a 4.8 inch display and a resolution of 1280x720.
To sum up, developing an app is no simple matter, but also not very complicated if you don't make things overly complicated. You must be willing to listen to the professionals (not always, of course), even if sometimes the things they say clash with your own idea... After all, they are the professionals.

Many people come up to me and ask the question: I have a fantastic idea for an app; I've asked a lot of friends and everyone has said to me: wow, that's a brilliant idea. What do I need to do now? If you don't have a background in programming and you don't plan to build the app yourself, you can approach an app development company like AppGate to do the job for you. So, what you have to do is to think through and develop the idea, and naturally, to find a way to maximize profits.
Development of iPhone apps - from the concept stage to having a winner app in the AppStore!
AppGate is one of the leading app development companies in Israel. To date, it has developed dozens of applications in different frameworks, whether it is to meet a company's marketing goals or for private entrepreneurs, some of whom have partnered with us to create apps, and some of whom have developed apps on their own. After a meeting with the professional team at AppGate Application Development for Android and specifying and understanding all the app processes, AppGate will appoint a project manager who will be in constant contact with you, the customer, from start to finish. App design is the first process undertaken after the specifications have been drawn up and the processes understood. Naturally, here too, the customer will okay the design before development commences. Once the app design has been approved by the customer, we will proceed with app's development. There is no customer intervention during the development process. Once it is complete and the first Beta of the app has been released, you, the customer, will have the first opportunity to engage with your application!
After testing and debugging has been completed, we will upload the app to the application store – AppStore for iPhone apps and Google Play for Android apps. The app approval process takes about two weeks following which, if it is successful, you will see your app in the app store.
Right from the start of the development process, AppGate addresses a whole range of issues, including how to market the app. So, right from the outset, we are already working on a marketing plan to gain maximum advertising exposure for your app.
From this point on, the sky is the limit. One can see apps that have succeeded well and others that have been less successful. The market is growing, and every day sees new ideas emerge that are more sophisticated and more useful than ever before.
